Zack Martin Suffers Knee Injury

Four time Pro Bowler offensive guard Zack Martin exited the preseason matchup against the Bengals in the second quarter. According to ESPN, Martin hyperextended his left knee, but is expected to undergo an MRI on Sunday.

It is currently unknown whether Martin will miss any regular season games, but based on the reports from ESPN, medical staff are “somewhat optimistic based on the initial observation.”

The Cowboys offensive lineman was recently re-signed to a historic contract deal worth $84 million with $40 million guaranteed. Martin has not missed a game since he was drafted in 2014. He has been named to the Pro Bowl each season and twice has been named a first-team All Pro player. The 21-13 preseason loss against the Cincinnati Bengals may have hurt the Cowboys, however the potential loss of Zack Martin during the regular season could deem to be even more harmful.
