The XFL officially cancelled the rest of the season on Friday, and they are willing to give their athletes the chance to further advance their careers.
As of Monday, March 23, all players in the XFL will become free agents, and are welcome to sign with National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) teams.
There is one player in the XFL that has already garnered interest from teams in both the NFL and CFL, that player is Houston Roughnecks’ quarterback PJ Walker. Walker previously spent time in the Indianapolis Colts’ organization, but never made it past the practice roster.
According to reports, Walker has drawn interest from the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals in the NFL, while the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Ottawa Redblacks are among CFL teams rumoured to have interest.
Walker is the leading candidate for XFL MVP, throwing for an impressive 1,338 yards and 15 touchdowns in just 5 games.
