WWE announces 2nd official match for Hell in a Cell

According to WWE via social media, AJ Styles will defend his WWE Championship once again when he takes on Samoa Joe at WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

This match will look to continue the feud that’s been building between the two since SmackDown Live GM, Paige, announced that the Samoan Submission Machine would be taking on the Phenomenal One for the WWE title at Summerslam.

The two battled in what was a hard hitting affair, being considered one of the best matches on the card. However, the bout ended inconclusively, as AJ Styles disqualified himself after attacking Joe with a chair.

The entire storyline of this feud is based on not only Joe’s desire to be champion, but his mind games. As he consistently uses Style’s family as the targets for his verbal attacks, going as far as to say the line: “…Dad’s not coming home, but I’ll be your new daddy” directly to Style’s daughter at SummerSlam, leading to an unhinged Styles to snap.

These tactics continued on SmackDown Live this week, when Styles was chocked out by Joe, promoting Joe to again call out Style’s family directly.

With this announcement, we still do not know one thing; will it be inside Hell in a Cell. While the match could certainly just be booked in a typical singles bout, this story line calls for the introduction of the Hell in a Cell.

In the past, Hell in a Cell matches were only used in situations that called for it, not as a standard stipulation once or twice a year. TLC, Elimination Chamber, and Extreme Rules are other examples of this trend we’ve seen for some time now – Doesn’t everyone remember the Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view?

Regardless, the match will surely be something to see! Stay tuned to the Game Changer Sports Network for all updates regarding this match and the entire Hell in a Cell card itself!
