WNBA Team Forfeits Game

The WNBA had to cancel a game for the first time in its history Friday night.  After the Las Vegas Aces had refused to play in their scheduled game against the Washington Mystics the league quickly came to a determination that the game would be a forfeiture.

Flight delays and cancelations caused the Aces to arrive in Washington with about four hours until tip-off.  It took nearly 26 hours for them to reach their destination.  After consideration with the players union, they came to a decision that it would be in their best interest health wise to not play.

The decision by the WNBA ultimately giving the Aces a loss, resulted in them falling out of the last playoff spot behind the Dallas Wings.

The regular season ends August 19 and Las Vegas plays almost every other night until then. They will need to put this behind them and focus on what they need to do to make the post season.
