Weekly Wrestling Recap: 2/25-3/1

Here we are with week 2 of Weekly Wrestling Recap! This week wasn’t too busy in the wrestling world, as we only have WWE and Impact. Comment other companies or shows that you would like covered!

Head News:

-Honkeytonk Man announced for the WWE Hall of Fame.

-Bea Priestley signs with AEW.

-Lucha Bros vs The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing officially announced.

-Tracy Williams signs exclusively with ROH.

-Sami Callihan and Fallah Bahh both resign with Impact.


Monday, 2/25: Monday Night Raw:

-Roman Reigns comes out to cut a promo, and announces he is in remission! The Big Dog is back!

-Aleister Black and Ricochet defeated The Revival.

-Ronda Rousey and Natalya vs Riott Squad ends in no contest.

-Becky Lynch attacks Rousey and Natalya with a crutch, but ends up in handcuffs and walked to the back.

-Rousey calls out Vince McMahon to demand Becky Lynch be added to the match at Wrestlemania, but is interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. Rousey tells Stephanie that she’s not one of her workers, and that the title is just an accessory. Rousey then lays the Raw Women’s Title at McMahon’s feet and leaves the ring.

-Kurt Angle defeats Jinder Mahal. After the match, Angle attacked Sunil and Samir Singh.

-Finn Balor is challenged by Lio Rush for the Intercontinental Championship.

-Finn Balor retains the IC Title over Lio Rush.

-Drew McIntyre defeats Dean Ambrose in a NODQ match.

-After the match, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley attack Ambrose. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns come out to save their Shield brother.

-Boss and Hug Connection will defend their Women’s Tag Team Titles against Nia Jax and Tamina at FastLane.

-Bayley defeated Nia Jax.

-Batista attacks Ric Flair backstage, and calls out Triple H.


Tuesday 2/26: Smackdown Live:

-Stephanie and Shane McMahon are out for the contract signing between Kofi Kingston and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. We get a highlight reel of Kofi’s greatest moments of his career. Kofi talks about how he has waited 11 years for this moment. Out of nowhere, Vince McMahon’s music hits and out he comes. Vince says that he has to do what is best for business, and that he has to make a “money” move. He’s replacing Kofi with KEVIN OWENS at FastLane!

-Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan sign the contract.

-Kevin Owens asks Shane for a match with Kofi as his partner.

-Shane McMahon announces Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan for the main event.

-The Hardy Boyz defeated The Bar.

-R-Truth announces a U.S. Championship Open Challenge.

-R-Truth retains over Andrade and Rey Mysterio.

-Charlotte Flair cuts a promo announcing that she’ll be at Raw next week to accept the Raw Women’s Championship.

-Aleister Black and Ricochet defeated Rusev and Nakamura.

-Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan.


Wednesday, 2/27: NXT

-Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa agree to partner up to reform D.I.Y. to compete in this year’s Dusty Rhodes Classic.

-Vanessa Borne and Aliyah defeated Xia Li and Taynara Conti.

-Dominik Dijakovic vs Keith Lee ends in double count out. NOTE: This was an absolute war between two big men. Most likely will end in a rematch at Takeover.

-Sasha Banks and Bayley return to the NXT Arena to announce that they have no problem defending titles against NXT competitors.

-Shayna Baszler defeated Mia Yim.


Friday, 3/1: Impact:

-Willie Mack defeated Jake Crist.

-oVe attacks Mack after the match. Tommy Dreamer comes out to make the save.

-Willie Mack and Tommy Dreamer defeated oVe.

-Fallah Bahh and KM defeated Reno Scum.

-Tessa Blachard defeated Delilah Doom.

-Keira Hogan and Jordynne Grace offer to help Rosemary in the Dark War.

-Wentz defeated Ethan Page.

-Moose and Killer Kross defeated Johnny Impact and Brian Cage.
