The NBA has decided to formally dismiss Tyreke Evans from the league for violating the drug policies of the NBA and NBAPA.
Due to the dismissal type, Evans will be eligible to return to the league in two years. When the league notified the Indiana Pacers, the organization released this statement:
The test results showed “drugs of abuse” in Evans’ system. This category contains amphetamines, including methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, and opiates like heroin, codeine, and morphine. This does not mean all of these drugs were found in his system, but rather, the tests show any number of these could be in his system.
The 29-year-old veteran joined the Pacers this season as a free agent and did not have a particularly great season.
