The New England Patriots have a tendency to be in situations where they need to be reprimanded. Typically, the NFL is easy on their favorite team. However, this was the second time they had been caught in a video recording incident.
These penalties to the Patriots are for their television crew filming the Cincinnati Bengals-Cleveland Browns game in December 2019. The team stated that the crew had absolutely nothing to do with football operations. Don’t forget that the Patriots were the ringmasters of Spygate.
So, you may be wondering what the NFL handed down to them as far as penalties go. As announced by the NFL, the Patriots will face $1.1 million in club fines, and a loss of a 2021 third-round pick. The Patriots’ TV crews will also not allowed to shoot games during 2020 season.
The Patriots also announced today that they have signed QB Cam Newton to a one year deal.
