Tennessee and Derrick Henry Reach Long Term Extension.

After leading the Tennessee Titans to the AFC Championship Game where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs, running back Derrick Henry has been looking to geta long term contract since the team placed the franchise tag on him and the wait is now over. On Tuesday, Tennessee signed Henry to a four-year contract extension worth $50 million with $25.5 million guaranteed. Both sides had until 4 PM Tuesday to reach a deal or Henry had to play on the franchise tag which would have paid him $10.278 million this season.


In 15 games last season, Derrick Henry rushed for 1,540 yards, 16 touchdowns, averaging 5.1 yards per run on 303 rushing attempts. During the playoffs, Henry rushed for 446 yards on 83 rushing attempts. Last season was career numbers for Henry for rushing yards and touchdowns.
