Blues Forward Vladimir Tarasenko left Thursday’s Nights 5-2 victory over the King’s in the first period after just 4:37 of ice time, in which he had two shots on goal. He was forbidden from traveling with the team over the weekend as they faced Boston and Detroit, and was re-evaluated by the team Sunday night.
News has come this morning that Tarasenko will be undergoing shoulder surgery and will be out a minimal of 5 months, until they can reevaluate his progress and go from there.
So far this season, Tarasenko saw 10 games in which he had 10 points, coming in the form of 3 goals and 7 assists. As the St. Louis Blues look to defend their championship title, it looks as though they will be doing so without a key component to their lineup.
