Syndergaard sent to the DL

More bad news for the already struggling New York Mets, as they announced today that starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard will be heading to the 10-Day DL due to an injury sustained to his right index finger.

Syndergaard, along side Jacob DeGrom, has played a significant role the Mets rotation, sporting a 3.06 ERA with a 4-1 record and 76 Strikeouts through 11 starts this season.

The 25-year old was scheduled to pitch against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, who are sitting in first place with a 1/2 game lead over the Nationals.

The Mets have fallen to 4th with a 26-25 record, following what was an impressive start.

Currently, the Mets organization has not given a timetable for Syndergaard’s return. He will join the list of the ever-growing members of the Mets DL, which now includes Yoenis Cespedes, Travis d’Arnaud, Wilmer Flores, Todd Frazier, Juan Lagares, Rafael Montero, A.J. Ramos, T.J. Rivera, Anthony Swarzak and David Wright.
