On Monday, The Washington Redskins announced that the team will be retiring the team name and logo after weeks of speculation. Although Washington changed their team name, that is not the only thing the team is on the news however, because this time the team is in some hot water.
On Thursday, The Washington Post posted an article about the Washington Redskins and what has gone on behind the scenes over the past few years. According to this story, 15 women accused Washington Redskins employees of sexual harassment and verbal abuse. In the article. the people accused included Alex Santos, Richard Mann II, Dennis Greene, and Mitch Gershman. Before the article dropped, the four men were fired by the Washington Redskins or left the team
Even though this article just came out, this is not the first time Washington has been accused of doing In 2013, The New York Post wrote a story about Washington Cheerleaders posing without clothes or their top on during a team cheerleader photoshoot with spectators watching them. After this article was published, several cheerleaders came out and revealed they were being used as personal escorts for sponsors as a nightclub. Despite the accusations, several cheerleaders came out and defended the team saying the accusations were false.
