Russell Westbrook Unhappy In Houston

After getting eliminated by the eventual NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games in the 2nd Round of the NBA Playoffs, the Houston Rockets are set to make some changes this off-season with Mike D ‘Antoni and Daryl Morey leaving. Outside of getting a new Head Coach and General Manager, the team now has an unhappy player on their hands. On Wednesday, according to Shams Charania, Russell Westbrook is unhappy with the Houston Rockets and wants to leave. Westbrook is under contract until after the 2022-23 season.

Last season in 57 games, Russell Westbrook averaged 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.0 assist, and 1.6 steals. In 9 playoff games, Westbrook averaged 17.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.6 assist, and 1.5 steals. The team acquired Westbrook in the off-season from the Oklahoma City Thunder for Chris Paul, first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, and pick swaps in 2021 and 2025.
