“Rowdy” Dominates Truck Series Race at Las Vegas

Kyle Busch started off his quest to win the triple this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by dominating the Strat 200 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race on Friday night. The win gives him a record 53 truck series victories in his career.

Leading 111 of the 134 scheduled laps, Busch captured both stage one and two victories on his way to another dominant performance. “It’s cool to win here in your hometown, being in Las Vegas, starting off a triple weekend. Hopefully, we can keep it going,” Busch said following his victory.

2018 Truck Series champion Brett Moffit rallied to finish in second position behind Busch after an early race pit lane miscue that set him behind. While pitting on lap 33, the rear air gun hose became trapped up his rear tire, causing his pit crew to lose valuable time.

Matt Crafton also rallied from early rear end damage to finish third while Stewart Friesen finished in fourth. Friesen was an early challenger to Busch, who led 20 laps on his way to a fourth place finish. Harrison Burton wound out the top five, finishing in fifth.

The next round for the Gander Outdoors Truck Series is on Saturday, March 23rd at Martinsville Speedway, with the race taking the green at 2:00 PM EST on Fox.
