Former Manchester United castaway striker Romelu Lukaku scored both goals during Inter Milan’s 2-0 victory over Udinese last weekend and became the quickest player in club history to reach 20 goals in all competitions. The Belgian international, who left Old Trafford this past summer in less than stellar form, found his dependable goal-scoring prowess almost immediately after arrving in the Italian top flight.
As of writing, Lukaku has already scored 16 goals, which is good for third in the league behind only Lazio’s Ciro Immoble and Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo. And it’s safe to say that his stellar form has been imperative for Antonio Conte and Inter Milan to rest only three points behind league leaders Juve.
Back to his historic goal scoring pace, Lukaku became the quickest player in Inter’s ilustrious history to reach 20 career goals. He completed this task in only 29 matches, which is just narrowly quicker than some of the greatest players of all time, notably Hernan Crespo and the original Ronaldo.
Lukaku will have an opportunity to add to his already impressive goal scoring total on Sunday when Inter challenge their in-town rival AC Milan inside San Siro in what is always one of the most exciting derby days of the year. They will then host Napoli in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals on the 12th.
