After agreeing to part ways with Matthew Stafford, the Detroit Lions have wasted no time in finding a new home for their long-time quarterback. On Saturday, the Lions traded Stafford to the Los Angeles Rams for Jarod Goff, 2022 first round pick, 2023 first round pick, and a 2021 third-round pick. Stafford will remain under contract until the 2023 off-season.
In 16 games this past season, Stafford threw for 4,084 yards, 26 touchdowns, 10 interceptions with a passer rating of 96.3. Despite ending the year with another losing record, Stafford was one of the lone bright spots on the Detroit Lions.
In contrast, Goff threw for 3,952 yards, 20 touchdowns, 13 interceptions with a passer rating of 90.0 in 2020. Even though Goff was a huge part of the Rams offense, he was inconsistent throughout the entire season which cost Los Angeles some games.
