Western Conference players to watch in the final stretch of the NBA Season

With each team having around 20 games remaining, we are entering the last quarter of the NBA regular season. It is now time for players to lock in, playoff basketball is on the horizon and the NBA’s elite know it.

Here are my top 3 Western Conference players to keep an eye on for spectacular performances in the remainder of the season.

1. Anthony Davis

After posting an absolutely ridiculous February resume where he averaged 35 PPG, 13 boards, 2.4 steals and 2.1 blocks, Davis is showing no signs of slowing down. With six of New Orleans next ten games coming against teams currently above .500, watch for Anthony Davis to put in work in crucial games down the stretch.

2. Donovan Mitchell

If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Donavan Mitchell winning the 2017-18 ROTY. Entering the campaign, nobody expected the Utah Jazz to be sitting within 2 games of a playoff spot at this point in the season; especially after losing Gordon Hayward to the Celtics in free-agency. However, there they are grasping for the eighth seed with 16 games remaining on their schedule, due largely to the contributions of the 6′ – 3″ rookie guard. Mitchell has posted a respectable 19.9 PPG, 3.5 APG and 3.5 RPG.

3. Paul George

Heading into a free-agency off season for the journeyman forward, watch for Paul George to continue putting up ridiculous numbers en-route to a max deal this summer. After posting average numbers for a majority of the season while he trying to mesh with his new team, it is no holding back at this point for PG13. If he wants top dollar from any team willing to give it to him, he’s going to have to put on a show in the coming weeks. George has posted 22.3 PPG, 3.3 APG and 5.6 RPG thus far.
