Patriots Advance To Super Bowl In Thriller Against Chiefs

Two minutes left in the fourth quarter with heart rates riding high, the score reads 28-24, in favor of the Chiefs. Who else would you rather have come in the game with these circumstances? Tom Brady, the engineer of game winning drives, shocked the world once again marching down the field to take the lead.

With the game on the line, Kansas City was able to send it to overtime on a 39-yard field goal by Harrison Butker, making it 31-31. Fans are out of their seats and the crowd is wild. Matthew Slater made one of the most crucial decisions of the game: calling heads on the coin flip. The Patriots elected to receive the ball, and the rest was history. Brady and the offense drove right down the field with a game winning touchdown by Rex Burkhead.

What a miraculous victory it was for the New England Patriots. There is one word that has stayed consistent in New England for the past two decades: success. Even the rare occurrences when the Patriots are considered underdogs, they find a way to win.

Tom Brady finished the game with 348 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a pair of interceptions. Sony Michel has become a household name for Patriots fans. Michel was able to have over 100 rushing yards for the second playoff game in a row.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 295 yards and 3 touchdowns. For the Chiefs, it was a spectacular year. Mahomes had one of the greatest rookie seasons we may ever see. There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that Andy Reid’s squad will be back in the playoffs next year.

The season is far from over for the New England Patriots. Since 1994, Robert Kraft has appeared in ten Super Bowls and has won five. The dynasty is now on the quest for their 6th Lombardi Trophy. They will have to go right back to the drawing board for their matchup against the Los Angelas Rams.

In two weeks, the Georgia Dome will be roaring. Who will take home the Lombardi trophy? The Rams will be looking for redemption since the 2001 season resulted in a loss. For Bill Belichick and the Patriots, they will look to build on to their dynasty.
