Over/Under Projected Win Totals: AFC East

Over/Under Projected Win Totals: AFC East

Vegas recently released projected win totals for each team for the upcoming NFL season. I will be giving you my over/under predictions division by division. Today, we will be looking at a very interesting division, the AFC East.

Buffalo Bills: 9 wins, Over

Buffalo is my dark horse team to make a deep playoff run. Last year, they went 10-6 with John Brown as their number one receiver. Now they have Stefon Diggs. They also added AJ Epenesa in the draft who should make an immediate impact on the defensive line along side second-year player Ed Oliver. You’ll also see second-year running back Devin Singletary, who had a good rookie season, take over as the team’s three down back, which will take a lot of pressure off of Josh Allen. This team has talent at every level, and I think Josh Allen is a good quarterback.

Miami Dolphins 6.5 wins, Over

I think the Dolphins overpaid for their free agents, but they added talent nonetheless. Byron Jones and Kyle Van Noy highlight the Dolphins free agency class, and they will both make immediate impacts. They had a great draft, and most players they picked inside the first three rounds will be starters or make an impact early on. They won five games last year and were no where near as talented as the roster is this yearm

New York Jets: 6.5 wins, Over

This one is pretty simple, as the Jets won 7 games last year, and they are a better team this year. First off, they were ravaged by injuries last year. Sam Darnold was out half the year with mono, CJ Moseley was injured most the year, the list goes on. They addressed their weakest point in the draft, offensive line, by drafting Mekhi Beckton. They did lose their number one receiver, Robby Anderson, but I believe they obtained his replacement with a higher ceiling in Denzel Mims.

New England Patriots: 9 wins, Under

This really hurts me to say this as a Pats fan, but this is the easiest pick I’ll have out of any division. I see the Patriots as a six win team, and more than likely they’ll finish last in the division for the first time in 20+ years. They lost Tom Brady, Jamie Collins, Kyle Van Noy, Danny Shelton, the list goes on. I am a believer in Jarret Stidham, but I think he will struggle mightily this season. You just can’t lose that many key pieces and have a good season. You never know though, Belichick may pull a rabbit out his hat, but my gut says he’s planning for the 2021 draft.
