Oilers’ Colby Cave in Medically-Induced Coma

The Edmonton Oilers, as well as their affiliate Bakersfield Condors, announced on Tuesday morning that forward Colby Cave suffered a brain bleed overnight, and is currently in a medically-induced coma.

The team stated on Twitter that Cave has been admitted to the critical care unit of Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital.

The 25-year-old forward has played in 11 games with the Oilers this season, along with 44 games in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors. Cave has appeared in 67 career NHL games between the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins, and has 3 goals and 5 assists in the NHL.
