According to multiple sources, New York Jets Owner Christopher Johnson has informed Head Coach Adam Gase that he will be fired on Monday. Gase will become the fourth coach to be fired this season provided no one get fired before he does.
Houston fired Head Coach and General Manager Bill O’Brien after week five. Atlanta fired Dan Quinn in week six. Matt Patricia was fired by the Detroit Lions at the end of November. There are a few more guys likley to be fired but these four is where we stand as of now.
The “QB whisperer” has failed in the Sam Darnold project and it’s highly believed around the league that Darnold will flourish under any other coach. The reality is that Gase kept getting jobs because of that one season with Peyton Manning.
Gase came strait to New York after three seasons as the Head Coach in Miami. He went 23-25 in those three seasons. We still don’t know what the Jets were thinking when they hired him but his 9-22 to record to this point confirmed that he should not have gotten the job at all. The Jets can only go up from here
