While the checkered flag has flown on NASCAR competition for the 2020 season, the preparations for not only 2021, but 2022 continue to progress. With 2021 right around the corner, Charlotte Motor Speedway will host what’s in store for the series in 2022 with NASCAR NextGen car testing set to resume on Monday, November 16th and 18th. Two former Cup Series Championships, Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr., will pilot the NextGen vehicles on both of the Charlotte Motor Speedway configurations. Monday will be reserved for the 2.32 mile road course layout, while Wednesday will see the 1.5 mile oval take center stage. The test will serve as the first time since August that NASCAR will test the next generation of NASCAR stock car.
