It’s that hilarious time of year again! No, not the time you’ll spend brushing snow off of your vehicle before driving to work. This is the time of the year, when NASCAR gets silly, and not the funny silly. With the NASCAR season ending only a few short weeks ago, the moving and shaking to determine what drivers will move and where they will drive in 2021 is in full swing. So, let’s take a look at the driver shuffle for 2021, starting with the NASCAR Xfinity Series!

Our Motorsports Adds Brett Moffit for Full Xfinity Season, Second Car

After a successful first season that saw the Our Motorsports team finish 15th in the final NASCAR Xfinity Series standings, the team will return again in 2021. Brett Moffit will pilot the No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro for the team full time next season. A second car, the No. 03, will also run a full season. Tyler Reddick will pilot the car at the opening round at Daytona International Speedway, with a full driver lineup to be announced in the coming weeks. IndyCar star Santino Ferrucci has been linked to the team for a partial schedule, but no confirmation has been announced.

Myatt Snider to Run Full 2021 Season With RCR, Taxslayer to Sponsor Car

Myatt Snider will return to the Richard Childress Racing stable in 2021 after a successful, yet partial, first season in the series. Snider will pilot the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro with sponsorship coming from TaxSlayer, a long time sponsor of RCR. Snider stated, “I was so thankful last season to run a part-time schedule with RCR, but knowing I’m going to be racing full-time now with a chance to compete for a championship in the NASCAR Xfinity Series means the world to me.”

Little Moves from JD Motorsports to BJ McLeod Motorsports in 2021

After a first full season in the Xfinity Series driving for JD Motorsports, second generation drier Jesse Little will move to BJ McLeod Motorsports in 2021. Finishing 19th overall in the Xfinity Series standings, Little will look to build on his 2020 success but with a new team. Little will drive the No. 78 Chevrolet Camaro next season. Sponsorship will come from Shriners Hospitals for Children, Tufco Flooring, Skuttle Tight and Visit Kingsport.

Berry, Mayer to Run JR Motorsports #8 in 2021

Josh Berry and Sam Mayer will compete in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports during the 2021 season. Berry, a highly succesful member of the JR Motorsports late model team, will contest 12 races early in the 2021 season behind the wheel of the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro. Once Sam Mayer turns 18 on June 26th, 2021, he will climb behind the wheel of the No. 8 Camaro in preparation for a full season in 2022. Mayer grabbed seven wins in the ARCA Menards Series in 2020, finishing 7th in the standings after a partial season. Mayer also scored his first Camping World Truck Series win at Bristol Motor Speedway in August.

Burton, Allmendinger Join Kaulig Racing Full Time in 2021

After the departure of Ross Chastain to the Cup Series, Jeb Burton will join the Kaulig Racing team in 2021 for a full season campaign. After two part time seasons in the series, Burton will contest his first full season in the Xfinity Series in the No. 10 Nutrien Solutions Chevrolet Camaro. Joining Burton, as well as returning driver Justin Haley, AJ Allmendinger will return to NASCAR full time for the first time since 2018 driving the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro. Allmendinger competed in 11 races in 2020, collecting two wins in the process.

Daniel Hemric Joins Joe Gibbs Racing for 2021 Xfinity Series Season

After a part time season in the No. 8 driving for JR Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing has signed Daniel Hemric to drive the No. 18 Toyota Supra for the team in 2021. Hemric joins Harrison Burton and Brandon Jones as full time drivers for JGR in the Xfinity Series. Hemric competed in 21 races in 2020 claiming seven top five and 12 top ten finishes.

Riley Herbst Shifts to Stewart-Racing for 2021

With Chase Briscoe departing to the Cup Series in 2021 replacing the retiring Clint Bowyer, a full time ride in one of the best cars in the Xfinity Series opened up at Stewart-Haas Racing. SHR has filled that seat with one of the best up and coming talents in the Xfinity Series, Riley Herbst. Herbst moves from Joe Gibbs Racing to Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2021 season, driving the No. 98 Ford Mustang. Monster Energy moves with him as a primary sponsor on his Ford Mustang.

Even with all of the moves during the off-season, the following drivers are set to return to the teams they drove in 2020:

To this date (December 16th) the previous driver announcements are the only driver/team combinations that have been confirmed for the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Stay tuned, as we will release another article in December updating the moves before the season opener at Daytona in February!
