Thunder veteran Nick Collison wrote up his retirement letter after 14 years in the NBA.
Despite only averaging just under 6 points per game during his career, he is remembered as a fan favorite in Oklahoma who has been with the franchise since day one.
He played his first 4 seasons as a member of the Seattle Supersonics, who were relocated to Oklahoma City for the ’08-’09 season. The only other member of that original team is Russell Westbrook.
Collison was the recipient of an honorable speech given by Westbrook before the Thunder’s season finale matchup against the Grizzlies, in which he called Nick his friend, mentor, and brother. He received a standing ovation and will be loving remembered as “Mr. Thunder”.
