Mae Young Classic competitor BANNED from working in the US for 5 Years

As first reported by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nicole Matthews – competitor in this year’s Mae Young Classic –  has been banned from working in the United States for the next five years. Due to “working without a VISA”.

Matthews, a citizen of Canada, had issues going across the US border recently. There, it was discovered that she did not have a VISA to work in the US. US policy regarding immigration and work VISA’s are incredibly strict; thus she will be banned from working any US promotions for the next five years. Many compare this situation to Mike Bailey, a fellow Canadian wrestler who was also banned to work US promotions in 2016.

At this time, there is no comment from wither Matthew’s herself or WWE. Matthew’s is a former 3x ECCW Champion (Extreme Canadian Championship), Shimmer Women Athletes Champion, PWE Elite Women’s Champion, and was ranked #16 of the 50 best female singles wrestlers by PWI in 2015 and 2016.
