Legion of Boom Member Retires

Chancellor, at only 30 years old, cites a career threatening neck injury that he suffered in late November as the main reason for his retirement. The injury occurred late November against the Arizona Cardinals, and caused him to miss the final seven games of the 2017-2018 season.

Chancellor states that his injury is showing no signs of healing, and he is listening to his body. Known as one of the hardest hitting strong safeties in the league, this is shocking news. Everyone in Seattle, fans and players, expected to see #31 suit up come September.

What this means for the Seahawks: Having lost Cornerback Richard Sherman in free agency, and now Chancellor, the Seahawks strength is now their weakness. The Legion of Boom that we all know is gone. The Seahawks will have to be more creative this year to fill the void at the strong safety position.

To put Chancellors importance into perspective; He had 606 tackles, two sacks, 12 interceptions, 44 passes deflected, and nine forced fumbles in his career.
