Kyle Busch Dominates at Circuit of the America’s for Win No. 98

Kyle Busch dominated the first NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), claiming the 98th NASCAR Xfinity Series race win of his career in the process. After starting on pole, Busch dominated from the drop of the green flag, leading 36 of the 46 laps run on Saturday. The only driver who seemed to have anything for Busch on Saturday was Kaulig Racing driver A.J. Allmendinger. However, late in the going, Allmendinger would have to watch Busch drive further and further away, as Busch won the race by 11.024 seconds.

Busch stated after the race, “It’s really, really cool to come here for the first race at a new track and win. I’m kicking myself right now because I never won at Montreal, but I won at every other road course I’ve raced at, so it’s kind of a bummer, but overall real proud of the effort.” Runner up finisher A.J. Allmendinger added, “It was one of those days the 54 was dominant. Kyle Busch is one of the best we’ve ever seen. To run second to him is not the worst thing in the world.”

While Allmendinger finished in second, JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier finished in third. The top ten on Saturday was the 22nd Xfinity Series top ten of his career, which is the most among all active drivers. Kevin Harvick, driving for B.J. McLeod Motorsports, finished in fourth, while Austin Cindric finished in fifth. Harrison Burton finished a hard fought sixth place finish, while Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick finished in seventh and eighth respectively. Rounding out the top ten were Kaulig Racing teammates Justin Haley and Jeb Burton. With those finishing positions, all three Kaulig Racing Chevrolets finished in the top ten.
