Jonas Valanciunas Out for Season

Jonas Valanciunas suffered a grade II right ankle sprain in a loss to the LA Clippers on Sunday night. The Memphis Grizzlies’ Center will miss the rest of the season.

Valanciunas, 26, is in his 7th season in the NBA. This season he averaged 15.6 points, 1.4 assists, and 8.6 rebounds. The Lithuanian was traded to Memphis on the Draft Deadline, February 7th, 2019 in exchange for Marc Gasol. Valanciunas scored his season high of 34 points and 20 rebounds at the end of March in a win against the Phoenix Suns, only to injure himself the next day.

Valanciunas is expected to make a full recovery with no surgery needed.
