Jason Garrett Is The Problem

The Dallas Cowboys are the only team in the NFL that can say that have a top 5 player at every skill position on offense. They have a defense that is ranked 6th in the NFL in 2019. This team is only sitting at 6-5 with a single game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles for the first spot in the NFC East.

Dak Prescott has had the best year of his career so far. He has passed for, league leading, 3,433 yards. Add to that his 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. his completion percentage is 66.8%. He is hands down the best QB in the league this year.

RB Ezekiel Elliot has not been the same this year as in his previous two years. He’s still an elite back who can open a hole in the defense at any time though. He had 919 yards on 215 attempts. That currently puts him in 7th in the NFL.

Amari Cooper is the key Wide Receiver that Prescott has been missing. His 56 receptions for 886 yards puts him in 6th in the NFL in reception yardage. He also has 7 touchdowns on the season.

The amount of talent on this team is outstanding. There’s no reason why this team shouldn’t have at least 8 wins right now. Alright, I lied, there is one reason. That reason is the coaching. Jason Garrett has proven again and again how he has no idea how to control a game.

After the loss to the the New England Patriots, even Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones blamed the coaching for mistakes made in the game. “Special Teams is all about coaching”. Jerry made it sound like at the end of the season, Garrett could be on his way out the door.

Jones needs a puppet of a coach. That’s well known and really the only reason Garrett has kept his job this long. You won’t see many guys come in and play into Jones system like Garrett does. However, if they ever want to win a Super Bowl Jones needs to take a step back and trust the coach to do his thing.
