Former Jr. Tag Champs Roppongi 3k (SHO and YOH) were forced to make the unfortunate desicion to vacate the titles. SHO was forced to make the decision as YOH has been sidelined the last two months with a knee injury. There is no timeline for YOH’s return as of yet. It’s a hard hit for the electric CHAOS team, as Roppongi 3k have been a staple in the Jr. Tag division over the past 3 years.
In the meantime, a 4 team round robin tournament during New Japan Road will determine the next two teams to compete for the titles, and become the 62nd Jr. Tag Champions. A total of six matches will be held over 3 nights as the teams face off. Every win will be worth 2 points, a loss worth 0, and draws worth 1. The two teams with the most points will then face off to determine the new Tag Champions.
The four teams will be:
Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato of Taguchi Japan
Hiromu Takahashi and Bushi of Los Ingobernables de Japon
El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru of Suzuki-Gun
Taiji Ishimori and Gedo of Bullet Club
The tournament will begin on September 5th, and the final is to be held on September 11th.
