Is Taynara Conti “Done” with WWE?

As first reported by Fightful, NXT star Taynara Conti has reportedly walked out of WWE, following a possible financial dispute. Although neither Conti nor WWE has confirmed this report, Conti has removed all WWE references from her Social Media profiles. She is still under contract with WWE, according to the report.

The original report reads as so:

“We’re told in the middle of January, Conti had a disagreement with WWE, and “walked out.” Most at the WWE Performance Center we’ve spoken to believe it’s financially motivated, but we’ve not confirmed that. It was noted that her locker was cleared out, however.” –

Conti, whose birth name is Taynara Melo de Carvalho, hasn’t been used on NXT TV since December 18, 2019, when she lost a match to Candice LeRae. Her last NXT House show came in early January when she was on the losing end of tag team competition.

While Conti hasn’t directly voiced her displeasure with WWE, she has made multiple cryptic tweets and Instagram posts, which may indicate she is unhappy with the company. Four days ago, she made a post which read: “When we gain confidence in ourselves, red flags are no longer red flags. They are dealbreakers (insert shrugging shoulders emoji)”. She would then later Tweet:

Which roughly translates to “Nothing happens, and you can’t” (Again, rough translation). Additionally, as noted by SEScoops, Conti has also made a point to retweet posts that have criticized WWE for not using her. Posts like these:

Conti has been signed to the WWE since 2016, and was the first Brazilian-born superstar to sign with the company. Prior to WWE, Conti gained a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and judo and earned her black belt. She had participated in trials for the Brazilian Olympic team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, just prior to signing with WWE.

She would make her professional wrestling debut at WrestleMania Axxess in 2017, and would go on to compete in both the 2017 & 2018 Mae Young Classics.
