Houston Rockets Set NBA Record

The Rockets have broken the NBA record with 27 3’s made in a single game. Earlier this month, they tied the record at 26 in a game against the Sacramento Kings.

In the highest scoring game of their season, the Rockets defeated the Phoenix Suns 149-113. They made 27 of 57 attempts from the 3 at 47.4%. James harden hit 5 of 6. PJ Tucker had 4, and Eric Gordon made eight! Gary Clark tied the record with just three minutes left in the game and Austin Rivers hit the 27th 3 in the last minute of the game.

The number 27 brings back memories to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals when the Rockets missed 27 consecutive 3 point attempts. The Rockets are hot right now, winning their last 6 games straight and by 20 points or more in their last four games. With the way the Rockets have been playing, a rematch with Golden State this year at the Western Conference Finals isn’t inconceivable.

The Rockets have one game left in the regular season against Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow night at 8:30 central on TNT. A win against OKC can secure their position as 3rd seed, or even 2nd seed depending on how the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trailblazers play in their remaining games.
