Heavy Machinery def. The New Day
Michael Cole: “Ladies and Gents’ the time for talking is over, and the time for some hard hitting action is here, welcome to Money in the Bank live from the Hartford Civic Center! Tonight we have three championships on the line and of course the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches, where the winner will receiver a championship match anywhere at any time! One of those championship bouts is the 6-man ladder match for the vacant NXT Cruiserweight Championship, and that is where we kick things off tonight!
NXT Cruiserweight Championship Ladder Match
Drew Gulak vs. Oney Lorcan vs. Mike Kanellis vs. Noam Dar vs. Jack Gallagher vs. The Brian Kendrick
The match started off with all 6 men brawling in the ring, none of them going for a ladder. Noam Dar and Mike Kanellis in one corner, Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher in another, and Oney Lorcan and Gulak in the other. Lorcan and Gulak spilled to the outside and continued their fight using the ring steps and ring posts, with Kendrick and Gallagher following thereafter. Gallagher was the first to introduce a ladder to the match. Kendrick came back in the ring and was the first to scale it towards the title, but was quickly taken off by Lorcan and Gallagher. Next up the ladder would be Noam Dar, trying to take advantage of the mayhem, but all attention turned to him and he was quickly pulled off. Dar and Kanellis fought in the corner, and nobody seemed to notice Drew Gulak climbing up the ladder and begin reaching for the title. Gulak had one hand on the title, when Kanellis ran up and the two began exchanging blows on top of the ladder, when Kanellis shoved Gulak off from the top. Dar got to his feet and took the place of Gulak, exchanging fists with Kanellis atop the ladder, but Oney Lorcan climbed to the top rope, jumped and drop kicked the entire ladder sending both men crashing to the floor. Gallagher jumped in the ring and tossed Lorcan over the top rope and took his chance for the title. From the apron, Dar springboarded and drop kicked the ladder, but Gallagher hung on to the title, but eventually had to give up and hit the mat. Brian Kendrick ran in, hit Dar with a leg lariat, climbed the ladder and unhooked the Championship.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
The Samoan Slaughterhouse (Nia Jax/Tamina) vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross
Tamina and Alexa Bliss kicked things off in this Women’s Tag Team Championship match. Tamina kicked things off with a big boot and went on the offensive. Bliss eventually countered a Samoan driver, and hit Tamina with a reverse DDT. Bliss used her quickness against Tamina, and eventually hit her with a code red and went for a pin that Tamina was able to kick out of. With Tamina in their corner, Bliss tagged in Cross who came in like a bat out of hell, hitting Tamina with a running tackle, and began slamming her head into the mat. Tamina was able to tag in Nia Jax through Cross’ attacks, and Nia came in the hit Cross with 3 big knees to the body, followed by a hard hitting DDT. Following some minutes of offense, Cross was able to move out of the way of a corner splash by Nia, and was able to tag in Bliss, who came in and attacked the body of Nia, and locked her in an abdominal stretch. It wasn’t enough to keep Nia at bay, as she lifted Bliss up and power bombed her through the floor. Jax lifted Bliss up and hit her with a body slam, following by a leg drop. Tamina came in and kept Bliss from tagging in Cross as her health diminished through all the offense from Nia. Bliss was able to get some offense on Tamina, hitting her with an insult to injury, but after a kick out at 2, Tamina hit Bliss with a superkick. Tamina ran and hit Cross with a big boot, knocking her off the apron, climbed the turnbuckle, and nailed Bliss with a diving body splash, and pinned her for the win, and the titles.

United States Championship Match
Ali vs. United States Champion Andrade (w/Zelina Vega)
Ali went full speed ahead right out of the gate, hitting Andrade with punch after punch, until the US Champion pushed him off, and hit him with a running clothesline that sent Ali to the floor. A running power bomb to Ali had Andrade looking good early, with Zelina cheering on the outside. With Ali in the corner, Andrade went for a punch that Ali countered. Ali hit Andrade with a big boot, before connecting on a tornado DDT. Ali continued his quick offense with fast strikes and a hard looking step up enzuigiri before putting Andrade on the top rope. Ali attempted to climb to the top rope with Andrade, but a kick to the face followed by an elbow drop to the head put the ball back in Andrade’s court. Ali eventually rolled to the apron and Andrade hit him with a draping DDT and Ali crawled to the corner. With Ali sitting against the bottom turnbuckle, Andrade ran and connected with a mean looking running meteora and a pin cover that Ali kicked out at 2 at. Ali fought his way back with a quick comeback, and was able to hit Andrade with a slingshot neckbreaker. Ali then climbed the top rope, and connected with an 054 Splash and went for the pin. Ali went for a pin but Zelina Vega jumped up on the apron and distracted the referee, which gave Andrade the opportunity to get up, and hit Ali with a low blow behind the refs back. A hammerlock DDT to Ali secured the win for Andrade.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Sasha Banks vs. Liv Morgan vs. Sarah Logan vs. Mandy Rose vs. Ember Moon vs. Natalya
The 6 women began this Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match fighting each other, trying to get the upper hand. Natalya and Ember, Sarah Logan and Mandy Rose, and Sasha and Liv. Sarah Logan dropped Mandy and immediately went to ring side for a ladder, putting it into the ring within a minute into the match. Ember grabbed the ladder from Sarah and quickly knocked all other 5 women down. While she was setting up the ladder, Sasha Banks popped up and was alone in the ring with Ember, hitting her with a back drop. Logan came back, but was hit with a back drop as well from the boss. More mayhem in the ring led to Liv Morgan being the first one to climb the ladder, with Ember Moon climbing the opposite side. With the two women fighting on the ladder, Natalya pushed it over, knocking both women off and to the floor. The fighting in the ring continued with no woman trying to climb the ladder, until the ring was cleared. Mandy Rose grabbed a chair from under the ring and introduced it to the ring, hitting everything that moved until she was the only one in the ring. She then tried to set up a ladder which took some time, and when she did, Sarah Logan was back in the ring knocking her off the ladder. With Logan the only one in the ring, from out of nowhere, Ember hit her with an Eclipse, before running up the ladder, and unhooking the briefcase.

Raw Women’s Championship Match
Sonya Deville vs. Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch
Sonya and Becky started the match off exchanging punches, when Sonya hit Becky with a takedown grapple and began raining punches down on her. Becky fought out of it, got to her feet and hit Sonya with a running kick to the head. Becky then began working on the arm of Deville, setting up the Dis-Arm-Her later on in the match. After a few big moves by Becky, Sonya was able to counter a submission attempt and get Becky on the ground by diving at her legs. Sonya then began targeting the legs of the Raw Women’s Champion, while Becky did her best to stay on her feet. With Becky on her feet, she was able to duck a punch attempt from Deville, and hit her with a Bexsploder. Lynch then waited for Deville to get to her feet, and when she did, she locked her in the Dis-Arm-Her. Deville did her best to break the hold, but the damage to her left arm was too much to handle, and Deville tapped out.

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Cedric Alexander vs. Aleister Black vs. Samoa Joe vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Shelton Benjamin
As we saw in the women’s match, all men elected to fight right out of the gate instead of going for a ladder. Shelton Benjamin went after Humberto Carrillo, Cedric Alexander targeted Aleister Black, and the two big men, Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley took their fighting to ring side. After hitting Black with a downward spiral, Alexander was the first to grab a ladder from outside and bring it into the ring. With Lashley and Joe still fighting outside, Alexander rid the ring of Black and Carrillo, but Benjamin began taking it to the former Cruiserweight Champion. A reversal into a hard hitting suplex on top of the ladder from Cedric had Benjamin rolling out side, and Cedric took this opportunity to set the ladder up. Outside, Lashley put Samoa Joe through the announcers table, and climbed into the ring while Cedric climbed the ladder. Lashley shoved Cedric off, but he and Benjamin locked horns. Joe made his way back into the ring and threw Benjamin over the top rope and began climbing the ladder. But seemingly continuing their rivalry, Lashley met him atop the ladder and the two began brawling. Lashley was able to toss Joe off of the ladder, leaving him by himself inches away from the briefcase. From the apron, Carrillo springboarded and landed on the ladder, brawling with Lashley. Cedric came on the other side and attempted to powerbomb Lashley from the ladder. Benjamin came in and helped him, sending Lashley crashing to the floor. They then pulled Carrillo off the ladder and sent him over the top rope. Benjamin grabbed the ladder, and from behind, Black hit Cedric with a Black Mass. Benjamin set the ladder up, and he and Black went up and began fighting. During the fight, the lights in the arena went out. When the lights came back on, Shelton Benjamin was laying on the mat, and Black was alone atop the ladder. Looking confused, Black unhooked and secured the briefcase.
Aleister Black wins the 2020 Men’s Money in the Bank
Michael Cole: “I have no idea what just happened, and I don’t think Aleister does either! One second he and Shelton Benjamin are fighting for the briefcase, then the lights go off, and when they come back on, Benjamin is laid out of the floor! I think everybody in the arena is absolutely confused, but it doens’t take away from the fact that Aleister Black is your 2020 Money in the Bank winner! Congratulations to not only Aleister Black, but Ember Moon from SmackDown for winning the Women’s Money in the Bank contract! It’s been a wild night here in Hartford, and we will see you tomorrow night on Raw!”
