Foles to start Week One

The city of Philadelphia has been collectively holding their breaths for weeks now. Gone is the high of the Super Bowl victory, and in comes the sobering reality of the season to come. Since injuring his ACL and LCL, Carson Wentz has done nothing but work to repair, and heal himself, in preparation for Thursday’s season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. However, it was not to be.

Rather than risk the future of the franchise, the reigning Super Bowl Champions have opted to play it safe, and start the back up quarterback. Luckily, the reserve signal caller might be someone you have hear of; Nicholas Edward Foles. Saint Nick may come with an early Christmas present this year, in the form of guiding the Philadelphia Eagles to a 1-0 start. The possibility of a second start is not far off either. While Foles has had a lackluster preseason, it is hoped that he bounces back with a more complete, and healthy supporting cast.

The Eagles are sure to take every precaution necessary, in order to protect the future of Carson Wentz. It doesn’t hurt that their back-up QB is last year’s Super Bowl MVP.
