The least we can say is that Marc-Andre Fleury’s agent, Allan Walsh, does not seem to appreciate the way Peter Deboer has been treating him during these playoffs.
Walsh tweeted an image on saturday showing Fleury in butterfly position with a sword in his back. On the blade of the sword we can see the name “Deboer”.
Fleury, who has been a star with the new Vegas organization, has a 91-50-14 record in 156 games with the club. He has a goal against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .915 in his three seasons with the team.
Deboer gave the net to newcomer Robin Lehner in all of the team’s first round games, with the exception of game three. Lehner has won eight of his nine starts with the team since joining them through a trade in February.
It’s safe to say that this is a weird time to try to cause trouble in the team’s chemistry. An image like this shows that they are unhappy with the current situation.
A lot of people would think Fleury would be happy for his partner’s success and content with winning, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
This may be the work of his agent trying to put pressure on the team to put his client back in the net, but most of the time a client would have a say in actions like these. It is unclear at this point if Fleury’s unhappy or not but this isn’t encouraging.
