Eastern Conference players to watch in the final stretch of the NBA season

With each team having around 20 games remaining, we are entering the last quarter of the NBA regular season. It is now time for players to lock in, playoff basketball is on the horizon and the NBA’s elite know it.

Here are my top 3 Eastern Conference players to keep an eye on for spectacular performances in the remainder of the season.

1. LeBron James

In his 15th season, LeBron James continues to amaze fans on a regular basis. The 33 year old King is averaging absurd numbers for his age, and legitimizing himself as a contender for the NBA’s MVP . So far James has put up 26.7 PPG, 9.1 APG, and 8.4 RPG on an efficient .542 from the field and .358 for 3 point range. With the Cavaliers recent skid, expect him to be ready to dominate the rest of the regular season, and well into the playoffs.

2. DeMar DeRozan

The #1 player on the current #1 team in the East has upped his game to a whole new level this season. DeMar DeRozan has found a confidence from 3 this year, posting career highs in 3PM with 70 so far, as well assist with 323. Not to mention, his 23.7/3.9/5.7 stat line. However, DeRozan continues to play like he’s got something to prove. Expect him to impress in the coming weeks, looking to solidify the Raptors as the #1 seed in the East.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Greek Freak, is indeed a freak of nature. Giannis is averaging career highs in points per game (27.3), rebounds (10.2), field goal % (.531) and 3 point percentage (.305). He also leads the Bucks in points, rebounds, assists and blocks. Currently sitting 7th in the East, Milwaukee will need Antetokounmpo to continue his excellence if they want to hold onto their playoff spot, and continue to fight for home court advantage in their conference.
