Domingo German Hints at Retirement

New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Domingo German has apparently retired from baseball. In an Instagram story posted Friday evening, German said “I left baseball. Thanks my people.”

In another Instagram post, German went into more detail saying, “Everybody makes a mark on history in various ways, I believe I made my mark at Yankee Stadium and if I decide not to come back I am very proud of the efforts I made in the 11 years of my career. God Bless the people who supported me.”

German hasn’t been on the field since September 18th, 2019, after he was placed on administrative leave by MLB, pending an investigation of suspected domestic violence. It was then confirmed a week later that German would not be eligible to play for the remainder of the season.

In the beginning of 2020, German was suspended for the first 63 games of the 2020 season, totaling his suspension at 81 games. German still lead all of Major League Baseball in win percentage in 2019 with an .818.
