Detroit Tigers Hire A.J. Hinch As Manager

On January 13 2020, former Houston Astros Manager A.J. Hinch was suspended for the entire season in part to a sign stealing scandal soon after the suspension was handed down by Rob Manfred, the Houston Astros fired Hinch as their manager. After an entire season away from baseball, A.J. Hinch is about to get an chance to redeem himself. On Friday, the Detroit Tigers announced that the team has hired Hinch to become their next manager. Hinch will be replacing  Ron Gardenhire  who retired during the 2020 season.

Before getting suspended and fired by Houston, in 810 games as Astros manager, Hinch has a regular season record of 481-329 in 5 seasons as manager. During his tenure as manager, Hinch led Houston to the playoffs 4 times making the World Series twice and winning it in 2017 defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in 7 games.
