DeSean Jackson is returning to his common-grounds after spending time with the Washington Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles felt they were destined to have Jackson come back and end his career in Philadelphia.
The Bucs received a 6th round pick in 2019. Along with Jackson, the Eagles also gained a 7th round pick in 2020. From the look of this trade, the Eagles won hands down with Jackson still showing his skills.
The elusive wide-receiver has slowed down over the past few years but continues to put up average numbers. In the past two years with the Bucs, Jackson has regressed, putting up less than 1000 yards, however, the elite veteran mentality is still intact.
The last time Jackson was with the Eagles, Chip Kelly was the head coach. Since then, Doug Pederson has taken the reigns and led the team to a Super Bowl win in 2017 with a 13-3 record.
For Jackson, returning to Philadelphia will be a great ending to his career. He will join a great offensive group: Golden Tate, Alshon Jeffery, and Nelson Agholor. Carson Wentz will have all the support he needs to make a playoff run next season.
