The Pittsburgh Penguins got some good news on Tuesday.
The Penguins’ superstar forward and team captain Sidney Crosby will return to the lineup tonight when the Penguins host the Minnesota Wild at PPG Paints Arena. Crosby has 5 goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 17 games this season. He was injured in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and underwent core muscle surgery to repair a sports hernia. Crosby has not suited up for the Penguins since this game on November 9, 2019.
Without Crosby in the lineup, the Penguins have gone 18-6-4 and led the league in points percentage, with .714. The Penguins currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division with 61 points.
The Penguins assigned Joseph Blandisi to the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in order to make room on the roster for Crosby.
The puck drops in the Penguins/Wild game at 7PM EST.
