Colin Braun Grabs Pole for Sunday’s IMSA Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen

Colin Braun, driving the No. 54 Core Autosport Oreca LMP2, has taken the pole for tomorrows IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins Glen International.

Braun and teammates Johnathan Bennett and Romain Dumas will lead the field to green followed by the No. 32 United Autosport Ligier LMP2 qualified by Paul Di Resta.  Former Formula 1 competitor Di Resta is joined in the No. 32 by Bruno Senna and Phil Hanson.

Penske Racing driving Ricky Taylor will start from the third position in his Penske Racing Acura ARX-05, followed by his teammate Dane Cameron starting in fourth.  JDC-Miller Motorsports driving Simon Trummer rounds out the top five in the prototype class.


The Ford GT Chip Ganassi Racing duo of Richard Westbrook and Joey Hand will start first and second in the GTLM class tomorrow with laps of 1:41.948 and 1:42.059 respectively.  Both Ford GTs will be followed by the No. 4 and No. 3 Corvette C7 Rs of Tommy Milner and Antonio Garcia.  Rounding out the top five is the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR of Earl Bamber.


The No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth qualified fastest in the GTD class with a lap of 1:44.499.  Starting second in class will be the No. 29 Land by Monoplast Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Christopher Mies with a lap just two tenths behind the pole winning Lexus GT3.

In third will be Hawksworths 3GT teammate Kyle Marcelli in his No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 who was able to post a fast lap of 1:44.712.  Both Meyer-Shank Acura NSX GT3 cars qualified fourth and fifth, rounding out the top five.
