In a rather shocking and bizarre news story, Phoenix Suns Point Guard Chris Paul has entered the NBA Covid protocols and could miss a significant amount of time. As it stands right now, Paul will miss “an indefinite amount of time. His availability for the Western Conference Finals series remains up in the air as of now. The reason for him being entered into the protocol is currently unknown at this time.

After the Suns swept the Denver Nuggets in four strait games to advance to the conference finals, they now have to sit and wait to see who wins the other semi-final between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Utah Jazz. That series is currently tied up at 2-2 with game 5 happening tonight. This waiting could be the best thing for the situation.

The NBA has yet to release a schedule for the Western Conference Finals due to the Clippers and Jazz series not ebing over yet. If that series goes to a game 7, it would not be played until Sunday. This would mean that the Suns likely wouldn’t play again until Tuesday or Wednesday at the earliest.

Chris Paul has entered the NBA Covid Protocol at the worst possible time for the team. As they key veteran who is still have a stellar season, they Suns really need him on the court with Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton to continue to make a run as a Championship.
