Carson Wentz Still Recovering From Back Fracture

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz is still recovering from a stress fracture in his back that cut his season short. Wentz, who missed the first two games recovering from a torn ACL, missed the final three games with the stress fracture. The goal currently for Wentz is to be ready for OTA’s in May. Wentz stated “There’s really no timetable, no rush, but I feel good with the progression right now. Some of this stuff takes time. But that’s not really the main concern; it’s just kind of how I feel. I feel pretty good.”

Durability has been a concern of Wentz over the past couple of seasons. Nick Foles offered a great security blanket, leading the Eagles to their first super bowl win in team history and leading them back to the postseason this past year. Nick Foles turned that success into a four year 88 million dollar deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Foles departure to Jacksonville, Nate Sudfeld and former AAF quarterback Luis Perez represent the only alternatives currently on roster if Wentz is injured again.

Wentz will still do his best to work his way back to full strength before the start of the 2019 season. He will come into this season looking to get his 2017 results once again. During the 2017 campaign he was leading Philadelphia to the best record in the NFC and MVP candidate until injury ended his season. He is currently throwing again as he prepares for offseason activities and a hopeful bounce back in 2019
