St. Louis Cardinals closer Jordan Hicks is set to have Tommy John Surgery and will likely be out until the 2020 All-Star Break.
Hicks left the game against the Dodgers on July 22nd after pitching 1 1/3 innings, and it was revealed he has a torn UCL in his right elbow. Hicks has 14 saves on the year and has thrown some of the fastest pitches in the league this year hitting 104 and 103 on the gun.
Carlos Martinez is expected to take over the closing duties in Hicks absence.
