Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi was arrested on suspicion of rape by London police early on Sunday morning. According to an initial report from ESPN, police and EMTs were called to Hudson-Odoi’s apartment after 3:30 AM in the Battersea neighborhood in West London. Once there, they found a woman who said that she was raped by the resident.
Hudson-Odoi was then arrested and questioned by officers at a local station. He was kept in custody until Monday morning when he was released on bail. Police were also sent back to Hudson-Odoi’s residence for further investigation. As for the player, he will have to report back to Metropolitan Police next month.
A spokesman with the police added that the woman was also sent to a local hospital for treatment.
It is currently unclear how Chelsea will react to this news as it has just been made public, but it’s safe to say that this could totally destroy their relationship with the 19-year-old. This latest development has continued Hudson-Odoi’s horrible time during this extended quarantine. He was one of, if not the first player from the Premier League, to test positive for Coronavirus back in March.
In the meantime, we will continue to follow this investigation and will relay any crucial information as it is revealed.
