Bruins Win Despite Losing Bergeron

Bruins Win Despite Losing Bergeron

Bruins Center Patrice Bergeron blocked a shot in Saturday’s game against Toronto which resulted in a fractured right foot.

Bergeron leads the team with 27 goals, 27 assists and plus-26 rating.

As of right now, Bergeron will be reassessed in two weeks, and then maybe a return date can be made.

Filling in Bergeron’s spot as first line center is Riley Nash, with David Backes filling in Bergeron’s spot on the power play unit.

The Bruins took on the Hurricanes in Boston last night as the first home game since February 12th, the trade deadline, and Bergeron’s injury.

Despite all of this, the Bruins were able to record an important come-from-behind overtime win with Riley Nash recording a goal and an assist, Rick Nash and Tommy Wingels scoring their first goals as Bruins, and young star Charlie McAvoy scoring the game winner in overtime.

The Bruins will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins Thursday night at 7:00 PM ET.

This game looks to be a great game as both teams are currently Stanley Cup contenders with Pittsburgh having one of the most deep offenses in the league.
