Former USC center and 2016 NFL third round pick Max Tuerk has died after reportedly collapsing during a hike.
Tuerk started in 38 games for the Trojans during four seasons with the team. His college career ended with a torn ACL.
Against all odds he managed to get picked 66th overall by the San Diego Chargers in 2016. Having spent some time recovering during his first season he never got the opportunity to suit up for a game. The following season he got claimed by the Cardinals but never hit the field with them either.
It’s always tragic having a young athlete die suddenly with no explanation. Our most sincere condolences go out to the Tuerk family.
