As first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, WWE and FOX have agreed to a 5-year deal which would have WWE’s SmackDown Live programming to FOX’s main network beginning in October 2019.
The deal currently is said to be worth $205 million annually, making the deal worth over $1 Billion. This would be a three-fold increase from what NBC Universal currently pays, which is somewhere in the $30 million range. As of this afternoon, The Street reported that WWE’s shares were up “a whopping 13%”.
There is added speculation that the move would require SmackDown Live to be moved back to Friday nights as well.
