Dalton spent last season with the Dallas Cowboys, signing as Dak Prescott’s backup and then serving as starter when Prescott was ruled out for the season due to injury. The San Francisco 49ers had also shown heavy interest in signing the veteran quarterback.
He finished the 2020 campaign with 2,170 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 8 interceptions, with a passer rating of 87.3.In 10 career NFL seasons, the first 9 of which were spent in Cincinnati, Dalton has 33,764 passing yards and 216 touchdown passes. The signing surely spells the end of Mitch Trubisky’s tenure in Chicago.
Dalton’s best season came in 2015, where he threw for 3,250 yards and 25 touchdowns. He only threw seven interceptions during the season, while ending the season with a passing rating of 106.3.
