Earlier this week the Atlanta Falcons waived DE Takk McKinley. It did not take him a long time to find a new home as the Cincinnati Bengals have claimed him off waivers today.
McKinley made waves last week on twitter when he claimed the Falcons refused trades last season when his stock was at an all time high. The Falcons disputed those tweets and then elected to cut ties with the 25 year old first round pick. In his career he has gotten 76 total tackles, 17.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.
The 3-6 Falcons are getting ready to go into full rebuild mode as the season ends. The team had already declined his fifth year option and he is only due $1.89 million for the rest of the season.
The Bengals are looking to the future as they are attempting to get younger across the board. The sent 31 year old DE Carlos Dunlap to the Seattle Seahawks at the deadline and made this move to get younger. The Bengals found their franchise QB and now have to build around him.
