Arizona Cardinals And DeAndre Hopkins Agree On Extension

When The Arizona Cardinals traded for DeAndre Hopkins from The Houston Texans earlier this off-season, the team made it a priority to sign Hopkins to a long term contract to keep him in Arizona despite him being under contract for the next 2 seasons. With just days before Arizona starts the season against The San Francisco 49ers, the team is making sure DeAndre Hopkins is getting paid. On Tuesday, the team signed Hopkins to a 2 Year Contract worth $54.5 Million and $42.75 Million Guaranteed. With his new contract, Hopkins will be making 27.25 Million Per Year, and is now the highest paid non Quarterback player in NFL History.

In 15 Games last season with Houston, Hopkins had 104 receptions, 1,165 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns while averaging 11.2 yards per catch. Even though Hopkins recorded less touchdowns and less receiving yards than the last two seasons, Hopkins has proven that to be one of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL over the past few years.
